COURSE DESCRIPTION
The 42km course is NOT an Association of International Marathons (AIMS) certified course. The course has been measured as accurately as possible.
After leaving the University Campus you will head east along the Parramatta Valley shared use cycleway. Following the Parramatta River through Rydalmere, you will soon reach the first aid station at Eric Primrose Reserve (just under the Silverwater bridge).
After the aid station, continue east along the river through George Kendall Riverside Park to Ermington and to the second water stop at Melrose Park. From here you keep following the river past Meadowbank Park towards Meadowbank Wharf.
You will then run up through the park and along Bank Street, over the rail bridge and back down Bay Street to the shared use path over the John Whitton Railway Bridge. Crossing the river to Rhodes and along the waters edge to the Bennelong Bridge. You then cross the Bennelong Bridge and wind through Wentworth Point to the next water station at Peninsular Park.
Around Peninsular Park, past the ferry, the course then heads into Millennium Parklands back to the river and along to Newington Armory and Blaxland Riverside Park. Following the river along and under the bridge, you will round Silverwater Park and head up and over the Silverwater Bridge back to the Aid Station at Eric Primrose Reserve.
Take care and pay attention to signage as you must turn left and go back under the bridge to complete the eastern loop a second time (ignore the 21km runners turning right!). After the second loop you head back towards the University and then continue west towards Parramatta Park.
After passing the University Campus, continue along the river, staying on the north side of the river past both Alfred Street Bridge (water station) and Parramatta weir, before heading out to and around Parramatta Park. There is a full aid station in Parramatta Park before you turn and head back east. Following the river, stay on the north side of the river, through the wetlands and back to the University for a very well deserved celebration at the finish line! Well done!
